I was asked by a lady in Geneva NY to come over to pressure wash her home. During a walk around the property I asked her why she wanted her home power washed? She told me that every time she brushed up against the house she would get gray "stuff" all over her clothes.
As we inspected the house together I pointed out to her why pressure washing would not solve this particular problem. I made a link to the video so you can look at the problem. After the inspection she had me do some plumbing for her. She was nice enough to let me replace her leaking kitchen faucet and clean the sink line. Because we took the time to walk around the home and point out what we can and cant do with a pressure washer, she got to get her plumbing fixed, instead of spending money on something that would not solve the problem she was having with her siding.
Pressure washing and soft washing is great for removing dirt, grime, mold, algae etc., but it can not replace paint, repair metal or cure oxidized paint. In the future she is going to have us power wash the siding so she can have the problem areas repainted. Here is the video to show you some other problems you may have at your own home.
